Florida CE Requirements for ND’s and NCs, Effective July 1, 2006:
Initial Licensure:
Two (2) credits in Prevention of Medical Errors
First Renewal:
Three (3) credits in HIV/AIDS
Two (2) credits in Prevention of Medical Errors
Every Renewal Thereafter:
Every licensee must complete 30 hours of approved continuing education within the two-year licensure
period which includes the following:
- Medical Errors: 2 hours for initial licensure and each renewal (Refer to Rule 64B8-42.005, F.A.C.)
- Up to 10 hours may be in management, risk management, personal growth, and educational
techniques
- Up to 15 hours for approved home study courses
License Expiration: May 31, odd years
