JDA is recruiting members for the following committees. Submit form at bottom or email the committee chair to join.
Professional Development Committee - Chair: TBD
Surveys membership annually for perceived education needs, suggestions for topics, speakers
Plans the calendar for the upcoming year, including speakers, topics, sites
Arranges for provision of food and refreshments at each meeting
Obtains prior approval of credits from CDR for upcoming meetings
Provides certificates of attendance following meetings
Bylaws Committee - Chair: TBD
Reviews, updates, and makes recommendations to maintain the association bylaws to be consistent with the Florida Dietetic Association
Review the Policy and Procedure Manual annually and updates as necessary
Reviews job descriptions of offices and committee chairs and updates as necessary
Legislation Committee - TBD
Acts as official spokesperson for the association in legislative matters
Keeps up with state, federal, and local legislative activities
Notifies president of impending legislative activities and shares pertinent information with membership
Stays in communication with the FDA legislative chair and state legislative network coordinator
Public Relations/Marketing Committee - Chair: TBD
Promotes nutrition and nutrition professionals to the public
Coordinates projects with other health related organizations
Coordinates with other committees to achieve association goals
Fundraising Committee - Chair: TBD
Plans and coordinates fundraising projects for the purpose of establishing scholarship monies for qualified students attending local colleges and universities
Coordinates with other committees in fundraising efforts
Publications/Projects Committee - Chair: Sue Stemke
Chair acts as e-newsletter editor
Solicits e-newsletter content from board members and membership
Keeps the membership and board members informed of JDA affairs
Prepares annual National Nutrition Month scrapbook for FDA
