President: Sonia Siegel, MSH, RD, LD/N Sonia is a Registered Dietitian working with the Jacksonville Childhood Obesity Prevention Coalition as the Nutrition Services Manager. Her position focuses on combating childhood hunger and obesity by providing nutrition education and healthy meals to children throughout the year. Sonia is an active member of ADA, JDA, and the Jacksonville Childhood Obesity Coalition and has a Certificate in Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management. She enjoys cooking, walking her dogs, working-out and spending time with family and friends.

President-Elect: Lindsey Sowders, RD, LD/N, CLC I am a Registered, Licensed Dietitian and Certified Lactation Counselor with the Duval County Health Department. I work as a Senior Public Health Nutritionist with the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infant, and Children Program (WIC). I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelors Degree in Nutrition and Public Health. I also completed the Pasco County Dietetic Internship. I enjoy living at the beach, and spending time with my family and dog. I look forward to becoming more involved with the JDA.

Treasurer: Catherine Wallace, MS, RD, LD/N Catherine is a Pediatric Clinical Dietitian at Wolfson Children's Hospital. After completing her mater's degree and internship in 2004 through UNF, she has been employed at Baptist Medical Center downtown. She is currently working in the children's hospital and loves every minute of it! Cat is closely involved with the outpatient pediatric dialysis center and multiple projects including the department website. In addition to her clinical work, she also teaches a monthly community infant and child nutrition class at Sulzbacher.

Secretary: Sue Stemke, DTR Over the past year I have become a Dietetic Technician, Registered and have worked in clinical, long-term care and community settings. Supporting nutrition and healthy lifestyles is my goal and JDA has been a great avenue to learn, teach and grow. My passion is involving people of all walks of life in their health and getting them to be as excited about nutrition as I am.

Member-at-Large: Jennifer Brown Lewis, RD, LD/N, CLC I graduated from the University of North Florida with a BS in Nutrition. Currently, I am a Public Health Nutritionist for the Duval County Health Department’s division of Nutrition and Chronic Disease Prevention. I enjoy public health and working with the community, especially children. In my spare time, I volunteer at the YMCA as a girl’s basketball coach. Also, my husband and I really enjoy going to Florida State football games.

Nominating Committee Chair: Sally Clifton, MSH, RD, LD/N Sally is a clinical dietitian working with medical/surgical/trauma patients at Shands Jacksonville. In addition, she works with the Cardiac Rehab program counseling patients and conducting heart healthy classes each month. She enjoys staying active in local, state, and national organizations, as well as representing the profession of dietetics through media relations. She has a passion for healthy living and nutrition as a means of preventative medicine. Sally earned her BS from UGA and her MSH from UNF.

Nominating Committee: Misha Biden, RD, LD/N Misha is currently working at the UF Weight Loss Surgery Institute as the Bariatric Dietitian as well as at the Healthy Start Program at Shands Jacksonville. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association, Weight Management/ Bariatric Practice Group and Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group. Misha is originally from San Diego, CA and graduated from San Diego State University with her BS in Nutritional Sciences. In her free time she enjoys going to the beach and spending time with her husband and 4 pugs.

Nominating Committee: Meridith Smith, MS, RD, LD/N, CDE Meridith is currently working at Shands as the Outpatient Diabetes Education Program Coordinator. She also provides medical nutrition therapy and serves as the Registered Dietitian for the Levemir Insulin Diet study at the UF Endocrinology practice. Meridith earned her BS in Dietetics from FIU in Miami, and her Master's in Health Science from UNF. She is a member of both local and national professional nutrition and diabetes organizations and thoroughly enjoys providing nutrition information through various media outlets.

Information Systems: Gina Ulery, MS, RD, LD/N Gina is our webmaster, listserv moderator and also reports the credits from our meetings to Florida's CE Broker. She has served on the JDA board since 2006. Gina is the Continuing Education Coordinator for Professional Development Resources, a local, non-profit company that offers JDA members 10% off online continuing education courses (www.pdresources.org/jda).
