| Message from the President |
I am very excited to serve as Jacksonville Dietetic Association (JDA) President. The year ahead provides
many opportunities for our current and future health care professionals to achieve professional goals and
ambitions. We are excited to be a channel that provides ways that you can get involved and participate
locally.
We are looking forward to meeting many community nutrition experts at our Kick-Off Social. The event will
be on August 25th at Yama's Greek Restaurant (see "Events" for details). Please plan to join us at this
event and get to know your local colleagues and join JDA!
In addition, we are updating our website and newsletters to offer up-to date information about health
related events and the most current research about Nutrition. Keep an eye out under our "Information"
section to find out about the current information and events related to nutrition.
Also, our first local Continuing Education Workshop, "Shaping a Healthy Future" will be at Shands Hospital
on September 30th. We are looking forward to your participation.
Lastly, a wonderful goal that the Florida Dietetic Association (FDA) is currently supporting is scholarship
donations. If we donate $1,000.00 we can vote on naming a scholarship for JDA! If you want to donate to
this, please let us know. Donations are tax deductible and go towards a great cause!
